And Satan will say ˹to his followers˺ after the judgment has been passed.

14:22

And Satan will say ˹to his followers˺ after the judgment has been passed, “Indeed, Allah has made you a true promise. I too made you a promise, but I failed you. I did not have any authority over you. I only called you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot save you, nor can you save me. Indeed, I denounce your previous association of me with Allah ˹in loyalty˺. Surely the wrongdoers will suffer a painful punishment.”

14:23
Those who believe and do good will be admitted into Gardens, under which rivers flow—to stay there forever by the Will of their Lord—where they will be greeted with “Peace!”

Solomon’s forces of jinn, humans, and birds were rallied for him, perfectly organized.

27:17
Solomon’s forces of jinn, humans, and birds were rallied for him, perfectly organized.
27:18
And when they came across a valley of ants, an ant warned, “O ants! Go quickly into your homes so Solomon and his armies do not crush you, unknowingly.”

27:19

So Solomon smiled in amusement at her words, and prayed, “My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You have blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please you. Admit me, by Your mercy, into ˹the company of˺ Your righteous servants.”

And ˹remember˺ when your Lord brought forth from the loins of the children of Adam

7:160
And ˹remember˺ when your Lord brought forth from the loins of the children of Adam their descendants and had them testify regarding themselves. ˹Allah asked,˺ “Am I not your Lord?” They replied, “Yes, You are! We testify.” ˹He cautioned,˺ “Now you have no right to say on Judgment Day, ‘We were not aware of this.’

We divided them into twelve tribes.

7:160
We divided them into twelve tribes—each as a community. And We revealed to Moses, when his people asked for water, “Strike the rock with your staff.” Then twelve springs gushed out. Each tribe knew its drinking place. We shaded them with clouds and sent down to them manna and quails,1 ˹saying˺, “Eat from the good things We have provided for you.” They ˹certainly˺ did not wrong Us, but wronged themselves.

Thursday, May 20, 2021

We have indeed established you on earth and provided you with a means of livelihood.

We have indeed established you on earth and provided you with a means of livelihood. ˹Yet˺ you seldom give any thanks.
And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.

Surely We created you,1 then shaped you, then said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblîs,2 who refused to prostrate with the others.
And We have certainly created you, [O mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees.1 He was not of those who prostrated.

Allah asked, “What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?” He replied, “I am better than he is: You created me from fire and him from clay.”
[Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay [i.e., earth]."

Allah said, “Then get down from Paradise! It is not for you to be arrogant here. So get out! You are truly one of the disgraced.”
[Allah] said, "Descend from it [i.e., Paradise], for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased."

He appealed, “Then delay my end until the Day of their resurrection.”
[Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."

Allah said, “You are delayed ˹until the appointed Day˺.
[Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."

He said, “For leaving me to stray I will lie in ambush for them on Your Straight Path.
[Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them [i.e., mankind] on Your straight path.

I will approach them from their front, their back, their right, their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful.”
Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."

Allah said, “Get out of Paradise! You are disgraced and rejected! I will certainly fill up Hell with you and your followers all together.”
[Allah] said, "Depart from it [i.e., Paradise], reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together."

˹Allah said,˺ “O Adam! Live with your wife in Paradise and eat from wherever you please, but do not approach this tree, or else you will be wrongdoers.”
And "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat from wherever you will but do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

Then Satan tempted them in order to expose what was hidden of their nakedness. He said, “Your Lord has forbidden this tree to you only to prevent you from becoming angels or immortals.”
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal.
And he swore to them, “I am truly your sincere advisor.
And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors.

How the Divine Revelation started being revealed to Allah's Messenger

Narrated 'Aisha (the mother of the faithful believers):

The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food likewise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "I do not know how to read." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, 'I do not know how to read.' Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, 'I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists), created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, "I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija replied, "Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones." Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while.

How the Divine Revelation started being revealed to Allah's Messenger

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari (while talking about the period of pause in revelation) reporting the speech of the Prophet:

"While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, 'Wrap me (in blankets).' And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran): 'O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!' Arise and warn (the people against Allah's Punishment),... up to 'and desert the idols.' (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly."

The beauty in inter-religious marriages

A couple Contrary to wide spread perceptions, inter-religious marriages are absolutely beautiful. The beauty of such marriages also stems from the fact that there are so many things to learn and appreciate about one another. The diversity, the similar beliefs, practices and even the similarities one can spot between our holy books will have you yearning to know more and for any such relationship that is underlined by love, the desire to understand the faith of a spouse is even greater. Mainly focusing on marriages between Muslims and Christians, this write up will expand on the fact that it is absolutely normal for two people from different religious backgrounds, who understand each other, to get married without necessarily jeopardizing their individual beliefs. Without a doubt, the society we live in is ruled by the supremacy of patriarchy, which requires, for instance insuch a marriage scenario, that the women are made to completely give up their religions and take up that of husbands – a very common practice in Islam. But the practice is not always so. Peculiar differences, disagreements and moments of misunder standing may abound in these forms of unions but it still does not take away the beauty that bonds such couples together.

1.Freedom of religionLove is a universal language of sacrifice and in many cases, compromise. The same mindset goes into such unions between two people of completely different faiths. And because love understands and it patient, many

couples like this rather get the freedom to continue in their faith and to worship as they please. Just like the two imperfect beings they are already, coming into a union of a lifetime, they are able to learn toappreciate and eventually welcome the distinctiveness in living with a person of different faiths and beliefs. Itis not such a gloomy experience as it may seem to be a long as there is mutual respect for what each one does. 2.Broad knowledge of different religionsThe cycle of learning never stops and even for a marriage between a Muslim and Christian, that urge ismagnified more. Consciously or unconsciously, married couples teach each other things and also, learn quite abit about each other’s separate beliefs. That is, the beauty those kinds of unions birth. The Muslim spouselearns how to live and relate with the Christian spouse as much as the reverse is the case. It’s called compromise and that largely defines what makes such unions beautiful. 3.Able to adapt in an environment that practices either religionsThe advantage for such a spouse in this kind of union is that they become accustomed to how people of his orher spouse’s faith or environment relate and interact. Without such prior knowledge, people might over step or offend others in ways they didn’t know. That is also not to say that without a union of marriage of this nature, such knowledge cannot be acquired but there is also no denying the fact that marriage helps a spouse to appreciate these matters and peculiarities better. Children who are produced from such unions also grow up to relate easily, adapting to each environment of either parents when the need arises. Inter-religious marriages may not always be perfect, but they portray their own beauty; the same beauty that defines what love truly is.
